ALEX STEWART
CEO AND PRESIDENT
Alex Stewart has spent over 20 years in the securities and investment
industry connected with Japan. He was a founding member of Baring
Securities, London, in 1983, and subsequently spent most of his
career with Barings, and its successor, ING Barings, as a senior
researcher. At Barings he wrote several major industry reports,
many of which were cited in publications, including the Financial
Times. He was credited by the futurist, Alvin Toffler, in his book,
"PowerShift" for his insights on new technology strategies in the
distribution, retail, and financial industries in Japan. He left
ING Barings at the end of 1996 to establish an independent research
consultancy in London. The move to the Kansai region of Japan followed
in early 1999, where he became actively engaged in advising domestic
and foreign venture companies on market entry, partnerships, and
funding before setting up Alexander Capital Access. He received
his degree from the University of London in 1975, and re-qualified
as a Financial Securities Representative in 1995. He is qualified
as a member of the Investor Relations Society of Great Britain.
YUJIRO HIRANO
DIRECTOR AND CORPORATE ADVISER
Yujiro Hirano spent his career at Unitika, a major Osaka-based
textile company. At Unitika he worked mainly in the International
Department,
and spent several years stationed in Brazil. Following his experience
overseas he was placed in charge of Public Relations, covering Investor
Relations. He was appointed a director of Unitika Real Estate, a
subsidiary company, before becoming an independent business, venture
and property consultant. To ACA he brings direct knowledge of Public
Relations and Investor Relations in a large Japanese company, and
through this the understanding of how to communicate effectively
with corporate executives in Japan. He is a graduate of Waseda University,
Tokyo.
F.T. PERRY
HEAD OF TRANSLATION AND SOURCE RESEARCH
Fred Perry is a graduate of Yale University whose career in Japan
spans over 40 years. He has worked in market research, advertising
and management consulting, including a stint at Hakuhodo, the major
Japanese advertiser, then later at McCann Erickson Hakuhodo. He supports
ACA in fields related to PR and message promotion, including Employee
Relations strategies. He is in charge of all translation
and source materials research
SETSUKO SHIMOGAWARA
ADMINISTRATIVE MANAGER
Setsuko Shimogawara spent most of her career in banking, at Bank
of America, Osaka, where she was a senior lending officer before
the bank closed its Osaka branch in 1994. She then joined the Osaka
City Shinkin Bank as manager in charge of international banking relations.
Subsequently she worked as an assistant to the management of Universal
Studios Japan. She brings to ACA a strong administrative and financial
background, a well as bilingual skills.
YASUNOBU MORISHITA
STRATEGIC
COMMUNICATIONS PLANNER
Yasu Morishita is an independent design and concept developer. He
has established his own company to do web and graphics work. At ACA
he is responsible for creative work related to annual reports, web,
and document (collateral) production.
